What is plastic oil?

Plastic oil or Bio Light Diesel Oil (Bio-LDO) is a high-quality oil derived from the processing of waste plastics. The primary components of this oil are high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Light diesel oil is produced when scrap plastic that has been collected and sorted is treated to the pyrolysis process, which turns the waste into usable fuel.

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical process that involves heating the material in the absence of oxygen to break it down into smaller molecules.In the case of plastic waste, the process involves shredding the plastic into small pieces and then heating it in a reactor vessel to a temperature of around 400-500°C. This causes the plastic to break down into smaller hydrocarbon molecules, which are then condensed and collected as a liquid oil.
