UCO or used cooking oil, are oils and fats from the restaurant, fast food, and consumer industries. It is mostly used in biofuel applications to produce biodiesel. Cooking oil can be burned directly or converted into biodiesel and other high-value fuels. Pyrolysis and trans-esterification are two of the most prevalent ways for converting waste cooking oil into biofuel.
Animal tallow oil is a renewable fuel that can be produced from fat and oil extracted from discarded animal products. Animal tallow oil can be used as a direct substitute for fossil fuels in many applications. A free fatty acid (FFA) content of 5 percent or less is ideal for making biofuels. This oil is a viable alternative to other vegetable oils because it has a high melting point and excellent consistency.
Chicken tallow oil is derived from waste fats, such as chicken fat. The chicken tallow oil with less than 5% free fatty acids (FFA) is then turned into biodiesel. It is known for its non-toxic and non-corrosive nature. Also, it is a fuel that burns efficiently and significantly causes lower emissions.
Palm stearin is a byproduct of palm oil production that can be used as a feedstock for biofuel production. Palm oil stearin has a high melting point and is rich in saturated fatty acids, making it a desirable feedstock for biodiesel. It can be used as a substitute for fossil fuels in diesel engines or converted into biodiesel through a process called transesterification, similar to other vegetable oils.
